upamaa alankaara - part XIV (example of different kinds of luptopamaa)

त्वं निधिरिव तव सदृशो नैव विभुर्जलदनीलजलजाक्ष |
तव सौशील्यमतुल्यं मित्रीयसि नतजनेsब्धिगाम्भीर्य: ||

This verse shows seven types of luptopamaa in a single couplet. Let's see how it works

1.धर्मलुप्ता (त्वं निधिरिव - here there is no mention of धर्म like भोग्यत्व )
2.उपमानलुप्ता ( तव सदृशो नैव विभु: - is shows that there is nobody with whom you can be compared. therefore there is no उपमान)
3.वाचकलुप्ता (जलदनील - here there is no mention of any वाचक like इव)
4.धर्मवाचकलुप्ता (जलजाक्ष - जलजे इव अक्षिणी यस्य. there is no mention of any वाचक like इव or any धर्म like प्रसन्नता)
5.धर्मोपमानलुप्ता (तव सौशील्यमतुल्यं. there is no mention of धर्म like लोकोत्तरत्व and because it is अतुल्यं, उपमान is also ruled out)
6.उपमेयवाचकलुप्ता (मित्रीयसि - मित्रमिवात्मानमाचरसि. there is no mention of any उपमेय because it is the self only and there is no mention of any वाचक)
7.धर्मवाचकोपमानलुप्ता (अब्धिगाम्भीर्य: - अब्धेर्गाम्भीर्यमिव गाम्भीर्यम्. there is no धर्म, वाचक or उपमान)
